Wheel Alignment Policy Updates

Bulletin 05-03-07-009, Wheel Alignment Specifications, Requirements, and Recommendations was updated significantly.

The requirement of service manager approval for alignments between 500 and 7,500 miles has been eliminated. Additionally, the Wheel Alignment Job Card Questionnaire has been revised. The questionnaire now only needs to be completed when an alignment needs to be performed on a vehicle with less than 500 miles on the odometer.

GM recommends a Field Product Report be completed for vehicles requiring a wheel alignment with less than 500 miles. Information regarding this report can be found in bulletins 02-00-89-002 and 07-00-89-036. As a reminder, prior to any measurement on the alignment equipment, technicians must confirm the current specifications and tolerances as listed in Service Information. Do not assume that numbers in the alignment machine are correct.

A printout of the before and after alignment measurements must be printed out and attached to the job card to support the warranty transaction.
