March 2016 Recall Update

Safety Recall 04014D: Engine Fuel Rail: The recall has been updated to add pictures to the Inspection and the Removal and Installation Procedures within the Service Procedure section. The recall applies to certain 1995-1997 Cadillac DeVille Concours, Seville, Eldorado, and 1996-1997 Cadillac DeVille vehicles equipped with a 4.6L V8 engine, and 1995-1997 Oldsmobile Aurora vehicles equipped with a 4.0L V8 engine.
Safety Recall 07035B: Engine Compartment Fire: Certain 1997-2003 Buick Regal GS and Pontiac Grand Prix GTP vehicles equipped with a 3.8L V6 Supercharged Engine are involved in the recall. The recall bulletin has been revised to update the correction, service procedure, parts, and the warranty transaction information sections.
Safety Recall 09047B: Engine Compartment Fire: Certain 1997-2003 Buick Regal and Pontiac Grand Prix, 2000-2003 Chevrolet Impala, 1998-1999 Chevrolet Lumina and Oldsmobile Intrigue, and 1998-2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo vehicles equipped with a 3.8L V6 Naturally Aspirated Engine are involved in the recall. The bulletin has been revised to update the correction, service procedure, parts, and the warranty transaction information sections.
Special Coverage 14159B: Excessive Engine Oil Consumption: The warranty transaction information section of the bulletin has been revised to adjust the labor times. Certain 2010 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles equipped with a 2.4L engine are involved.
Safety Recall 14171D: Lapbelt Pretensioner Locking Performance: The part information section of the bulletin has been revised. The seat belt tensioner kit is no longer available for order. Dealers are instructed to order the individual components of the kit. The 2013 Buick Encore, Cadillac ATS 4-Door, and Chevrolet Trax are involved, as well as vehicles that were serviced with a suspect part: 2013-2014 Buick Encore and Cadillac ATS 4-Door; and 2014 Cadillac CTS Sedan (VIN A).
Safety Recall 14445A: Unintended Ignition Key Rotation: The recall has been updated to include a footnote with the part ordering information section regarding part number 92281664. The letter "H" must precede the five digit key code when ordering the part. The recall applies to certain 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice PPV and 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 vehicles.
Safety Recall 14491B: Front Passenger Airbag Inflator: A sufficient quantity of the airbag inflators is now available for dealers to repair all involved vehicles. GM has begun issuing notification letters to the additional vehicle population. The recall affects certain 2003-2007 Pontiac Vibe vehicles.
Safety Recall 14574B: Engine Oil Leak on Exhaust Manifold: The bulletin contains a revision to the correction, service procedure, parts information and warranty transaction sections. The following 2004 model year vehicles may be affected: Buick Regal, Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet Monte Carlo, and Pontiac Grand Prix, equipped with a 3.8L V6 engine.
Customer Satisfaction Program 15036A: Trailer Hitch Platform Welds: Certain 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado LD and GMC Sierra LD trucks equipped with RPO Z82 trailering equipment are involved in the recall that addresses an issue with cracks developing at weld points over time in the trailer hitch platform. Dealers are instructed to remove and replace the trailer hitch platform. The recall is in effect until February 28, 2018. The recall has been updated to revise the part information section.
Safety Recall 15042: HVAC Connector Wire Failure: Approximately 165,000 vehicles are involved in the recall that addresses the connector module that controls the blower motor speed in the HVAC system. Dealers are instructed to replace the female connector and harness due to an overheating condition. Vehicles involved include the 2006-2010 Hummer H3 and Hummer H3T.
Customer Satisfaction Program 15169B: Crank/No Start-DTC U0100, U1000, B2193 Stored: The service procedure section of the recall has been updated to clarify the wire splice detail, update the crimping tool number and to revise the graphic within the procedure. The 2015 Chevrolet Express is involved in this program.
Special Coverage 15285A: Excessive Engine Oil Consumption: Certain 2011 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles equipped with a 2.4L engine are involved in the recall that has been updated to revise the warranty information section.
Customer Satisfaction Program 15577: Interior Electrical Center Left End Cap Fuse Label Error: Just over 202,000 vehicles are involved in the program that addresses an incorrect electrical circuit label on the instrument panel left end cap cover that shows four incorrect fuse positions. Dealers are to install a corrected label. The following 2015 model year vehicles are involved: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL. The recall program is in effect until February 28, 2018.
Safety Recall 15595A: Loss of Steering Assist: There are approximately 3,000 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon vehicles that will require replacement of the steering gear torque sensor cover assembly. Involved vehicles may experience loss of power steering assist at startup or while driving due to a poor electrical connection. The recall has been revised to include a copy of the customer letter.
Safety Recall 15757: Under Hood Fire: Approximately one million vehicles are involved in the recall that addresses a condition in which drops of engine oil may be deposited on the exhaust manifold through hard braking. Dealers are instructed to replace the engine's front valve cover and front-valve-cover-gasket with new parts of an improved design. The engine's plastic beauty cover and plastic oil-fill-tube extension will be removed, if they have not been already. Vehicles involved include the 1997-2004 Buick Regal and Pontiac Grand Prix, 2000-2004 Chevrolet Impala, 1998-1999 Chevrolet Lumina and Oldsmobile Intrigue, and 1998-2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo equipped with a 3.8L V6 engine.
Special Coverage 15804A: Airbag Light: Certain 2014-2015 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia vehicles are involved in the special coverage that addresses intermittent high resistance in the driver and passenger seat airbag or pretension wire harness connectors. The vehicles are covered by the special coverage for a period of 6 years or 72,000 miles. Dealers are to disassemble the driver and passenger seat airbag connectors and solder the female terminals. The bulletin has been revised to update the condition paragraph with an additional symptom.
Noncompliance Recall 15808: No Key in Reminder Chime and/or No Audio: Certain 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, Malibu, Silverado and GMC Sierra vehicles equipped with a Radio Infotainment System may have a condition in which the radio software in the vehicles may intermittently fail to provide an audio warning when a key is left in the ignition and the driver door is opened, or when the driver forgets to put on their seatbelt. Dealers are to reprogram the radios with corrected software.
Safety Recall 20760A: Brake Pedal Pivot Nut/Bolt Loose: Approximately 426,000 vehicles are involved in the recall that addresses a loose brake pedal pivot nut that may cause the brake pedal to be loose or inoperative. The recall affects certain 2015-2016 Chevrolet Silverado HD, Silverado Crew Cab LD with Special Services, Tahoe PPV, Tahoe with Special Services, and GMC Sierra HD vehicles. Dealers are to inspect the pivot bolt installation to determine whether the vehicle has already received the production remedy. If not, the dealer will add adhesive to the nut, and reinstall the nut at an increased torque. The bulletin was revised to include additional vehicles as well as to update the service procedure and warranty transaction sections.
Upcoming Safety Recall 28810: Takata Driver Airbags: Takata has notified NHTSA about the upcoming safety recall that relates to all Takata PSDI-5 driver airbag inflators produced from the start of production through the end of model year 2014. The inflators were installed in the following vehicles as OEM: 2003-2011 Saab 9-3, 2010-2011 Saab 9-5, and 2008-2009 Saab Astra vehicles. GM is recalling the vehicles to replace the Takata driver airbag inflators. Parts are currently not available. Dealers will be advised when the recall bulletin is released. GM dealers will replace the driver airbag module on the Saturn Astra vehicles involved in the recall. Saab Official Service Centers will replace the driver airbag inflator on the Saab 9-3 and 9-5 vehicles involved in the recall.
