Compensation

Dealerships pay one of the highest average salaries of all industries according to an economist with NADA. Average weekly earnings for dealership employees in 2015 were $1,087. That converts to approximately $56,500 annually, up from about $50,000 in 2011. It is predicted that many, many more people need to be attracted into the industry in order to keep up with work expansion that dealers have in regards to sales, but also service. In the auto retail business it is fairly typical that owner and employee compensation growth track very closely in the auto retail business. In other industries it is just the opposite, owner compensation usually far outpaces employee compensation.
